THE DFSIN DIFFERENCE

Tony's Story

A VETERAN ADVISOR EMBODYING HONESTY, INTEGRITY AND ETHICS

When asked by a potential client “What can I expect from you,” Tony always gives the same answer. Honesty, Integrity and Ethics. Being a veteran in the financial services industry, Tony understands well that trusting an advisor with one’s personal finances, for most people, is easier said than done. That’s why he always places his clients’ needs first and provides them with the most straight forward, caring and professional advice.

Married with two adult children (no grandkids yet), Tony’s commitment to family and community remains a priority in his life. He has been with DFSIN for over 25 years. And now, his son Joshua has also joined the business to work closely with him as a team.

“For me, without a doubt, it’s the fact that I own my client book. I worked hard to build my business and our network recognizes that.”

A CONVERSATION WITH TONY WRAY

28 years precisely as of April 1, 2025. DFSIN has proven over the years their commitment to independent advisors, that they do care and have worked hard to improve their offerings for advisors. What’s most appealing to me is our independence - owning your own book. Also, I take pride in being able to demonstrate to my clients a stable history with one dealer that has the national brand recognition.

Of course I encouraged him to join me, but ultimately it was his decision and intention. Yes, there are definitely some differences between his style and mine. Being younger obviously Josh is able to relate better to our client’s next generation and our younger clients generally. While I’ve always thought I was pretty good keeping up with technology in our industry, he is even more so and embraces fully digitalization. He is also more creative and, being a semi-pro athlete, able to relate to an entirely different demographic of clients and prospects.

Good question. The short answer is yes. I am rather pleased with our network and future direction and feel that it bodes well for Josh in the years to come. Our transition to the DFSIN BC financial centre in Surrey has been instrumental for us both, but especially for Josh as he now gets to work with like-minded investment and planning professionals, in a supportive environment.
